Magnus here again just updating you all on how my life is developing. I trust you are all well on your paths and certain aspects of your lives are down in the gutter, while other areas of your life are soaring. My life is just the same, my business has grown and grown and my next project, practicing at the world renown Hale Clinic, is shaping up to be the one that will gain African Rhythms Massage so much recognition.
You remember around the time I massaged Jeremy Clarkson and raised £3000 for Helen & Douglas, I began treatments at Harley Street. Well although things started really well the room never felt right and I wasn't comfortable inviting clients in for treatments. The Harley Street name was very good for business and my perception but Harley Street as a place was too clinical and soulless. So for some months I have been on a quest to find somewhere to practice in London that actually compliments what I have to offer.
I spent months looking all over central London and even considered working in hotel spas and beauty salons as I was looking for clients who really appreciated the value of a top notch massage that can do so much more than simply soothe aching muscles, and would be prepared to pay a little extra for the best. Then my Swedish massage tutor, Bharvesh Joshi, suggested that I try out Neals Yard. I was so excited about working at Neals Yard that I went straight there to introduce myself. I really thought that with my credentials they would love to have me join their team but they lost my first application and filed my second one, without even a call! I was very disappointed.
So I was back on the hunt for a new place to practice but this time I though I'd use my head and ask the people in position to search for me. I rang Rachel of Well Being Magazine and asked if she could have a word with her contacts and within a couple of days I received an email from The Hale Clinic asking for practitioners. A good friend of mine Dee first told me about The Hale 6 months ago so I was excited at the thought of being there, so I sent them a beautiful email introducing myself and the what I saw was possible with our collaboration. To my surprise and amazement not only did I receive a call from them but I received TWO emails. Bingo, I had found my clinic.
Within a week I visited The Hale and appreciated the welcome and the vision Nicole and Helen had for the clinic. The plan was to start in mid March, so I asked whether I could have a launch party and they agreed.
So on Monday 17th March 2008 Cathy and I will be hosting a Launch Party at The Natural Kitchen 77 Marleybone High St from 6pm til 7.30pm. I will be doing a talk, there will be some African drum music, some nibbles and I will be giving away taster treatments for those who arrive early.

MAGNUS THE MASSEUR IN TOP GEAR!!

On Saturday, I attended The Big Top Ball, raising money for Helen &
Douglas Childrens Hospice. The Massage Party that I donated finally went
for ?3000!! It was won by a wealthy businessman who wants me to massage
some guests for a forthcoming party he is throwing.
James May, Jeremy Clarksons Top Gear co-presenter, bided up to ?2900 but
said he will come along to Harley Street for a massage anyway. I later
gave him a taster treatment to say thanks, as it would have only raised
?2000, without his interest. Richard Hammond (the Hamster), was present
and we chatted but he wasn't up for a massage.
I did massage Jeremy Clarkson, on the stage, as my lot was being fought
for.
The total money raised on the night was ?155,000 which was much
appreciated.
My next venture is to massage at Fashion Rocks, being held at The Royal
Albert Hall, on October 18th. If anyone knows any contacts that can make
this possible, please can you give them my details.

Just an update on things in the world of transformation and the unfolding journey of Magnus Agugu. As from Sunday, I will be practicing in Harley Street. Horay!! Yes it is fantastic news that it has taken just two and a half years to reach this point.
But the Harley Street opportunity has forced me to look at what I actually provide for people. I have been empowering people for a decade and massaging for a couple of years. All my treatments begin with a long consultation and I have found that sometimes the client doesn't even need to be touched, but I massage them all the same, because I assumed they would be disappointed if I didn't.
I have never really been comfortable with talking, and thus, have focused my core business of my gift of touch, even though I do have excellent communication skills to coach my clients. This has highlighted a problem in my business.
As humans we try to pigeon hole people, so when you hear massage, you immediately think, Swedish, Thai, Indian Head, relaxation, soothing, spa, aromatherapy, joints, foreplay, Thailand, ?40 to ?60. and possibly a few other things.
But when you hear coaching you can hear professional sportsmen, world records, amazing results, breakthroughs in business, relationship, communication, power, celebrity, ?100 to ?1,000,000 unlimited potential and the list of adjectives that describe limitless results.
My business name is Magnus the Masseur, partly because it sounded better than Magnus the Healer, or Magnus the Coach, and because I have the gift of touch and my family have been massaging for generations. You also know that I have created my own style of massage, The African Rhythms Body Flex Massage, which I am very proud of.
In a couple of years I will start to teach my massage, but for now the name Magnus The Masseur is a bit of a burden.
So what I am choosing to focus on are treatments that combine "healing, massage and coaching". When these three elements come together, something truly amazing occurs with the clients and amazing breakthroughs in every area of their lives are possible.

ONE MASSAGE. MANY POSSIBILITIES!!

Magnus here with an update on how life is developing for me and Cath, out in the sticks.
On 4th September Cath and I will be celebrating our THIRD wedding anniversary. I can't believe its been 3 years since that amazing day occurred, (and I broke my arm!). For those of you who are afraid of marriage, can I say that I am loving it, but more than that, I am loving who I have become since being married.
You see before I was married I was a happy go lucky man who loved people, partying, smoking weed, djing, the Notting Hill Carnival, making a difference and loving my life in south London. No problems there.
But since getting married and moving away I have a whole other world of experiences that were just not possible before moving away and getting married.
Since being married I have taught in a primary school, become a landlord, empower hundreds of people in Hastings, Tunbridge Wells and all over Kent & Sussex and am a successful businessman,
But most of all I have acknowledged that I am a healer and have taken my gift of healing to ever increasing heights. Since starting in April 2005 I have treated over 1300 people, many of whom have said it was the best treatment they have ever experienced, have raised hundreds of pounds for a dozen different charities, created my very own style of massage, The African Rhythms Body Flex Massage, have been in magazines, on the radio and TV, and even have clients that fly in from abroad to experience my treatments.
Next month I will be massaging at The Big Top Ball, in Henley, raising money for www.helenanddouglas.org.uk, a children's Hospice in Oxfordshire. This is a big deal event and the tickets are ?150 a head! There will be an auction, which I have donated a massage party, and the auctioneer will be Jeremy Clarkson. A number of the guests from Top Gear will be in attendance and I will massage about 40 guests on the night.
With the love and support of Catherine I have begun to believe the impossible is actually possible!
So from September Magnus The Masseur will be starting treatments from Harley Street. An opportunity presented itself to me 3 weeks ago and I have taken it. I know not where this will end but I am enjoying the journey.
In time I will let you know more about the precise treatments and prices but rest assured, the results will continue to amaze!

SUMMER IN TUNBRIDGE WELLS

So much has occurred in my life, since I last emailed and most of it has been very positive. Cath and I have now moved out of Oakover, our rented top floor mansion apartment in Ticehurst and although it was a dream apartment to live in for both of us, I can say I have no regrets, though Cath may still have a few.
We now reside in Honour House, a 2 bed apartment in the middle of Tunbridge Wells. The places couldn't be more different.as Oakover was is the middle of the countryside and Honour House is 10 seconds from the shopping district of Tunbridge Wells.
Tunbridge Wells is the land of opportunity for me and to celebrate moving I have some exciting events to share with you.
On Fri 6th July and Sat 7th July there is a music and healing festival to commemorate the July 7th bombing. Its called the Summer Happening and it's held in the grounds of a manor house in Lamberhurst. I will be spinning some beautiful reggae music on Friday evening and will be healing on the Saturday. Tickets are ?10 for Friday evening and ?15 for Saturday. http://summerhappening.co.uk/
Then the following weekend on Saturday 14th July I will be healing at Music on the Meadow, www.musiconthemeadow.com a music festival in Mayfield East Sussex. This festival runs from 12 noon to 12 midnight.
And on Sunday 15th there will be the Tunbridge Wells MELA in Calverley Grounds, with a variety of performers from around the world. Between the acts I will be playing some beautiful reggae music, dancing and vibesing up the party, the Magnus way! This is a FREE event that runs from 12 to 6pm and you're all welcome to come and party.

THE PROMISE OF SPRING!

2007 has started the way 2006 ended, with lots of promise, but for what I wanted to achieve I knew that I would have to re invent myself. Most of you know that I have a stutter and although I have had a radio show for 4 years and achieved some things many fluent people would be too afraid to do, it has haunted me none the less.
Last month I attended The Starfish Project, a 3 day residential stammerers course to help me control my stammer. They taught me a breathing technique that, if used, could control my stammer enabling me say every word that I wanted. What I also learned was that the stammer also affects my personality, making me more prone to saying "yes", just because of the fear of stammering lots if I said "no". So us stammers agree to things we don't even like because we want an easy life. Eg. When in a restaurant I have ordered all sorts of foods that I had no desire to eat because it was easier to pronounce than the thing I actually wanted. Best of all is that I now have no guilt around stammering, so if I do stammer, I don't beat myself up for doing so.
About 6 months ago Cathy was redesigning a logo for the Davis Learning Foundation, who specialize in courses for Dyslexics. In conversation with them she realized that I was probably dyslexic too. I had no idea because I thought that you had to have bad spelling or hand writing to be a dyslexic, but there was a long list of characteristics that I have that mean I am dyslexic. Also they refer to Dyslexia as a GIFT, not an illness or disability, and show you a long list of brilliant people who were dyslexics, such as Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, Winston Churchill and Thomas Edison, to name but a few.
Dyslexics don't all develop the same gifts, but they do have certain mental functions in common. Here are some of the basic abilities they share.
1. They can utilize the brain's ability to alter and create perceptions (the primary ability).
2. They are highly aware of the environment.
3. They are more curious than average.
4. They think mainly in pictures instead of words
5. The are highly intuitive and insightful.
6. They thing and perceive multi-dimensionally, using all senses (anyone who has seen me dance will notice this.)
7. They can experience thought as reality
8. They have vivid imaginations.
These eight basic abilities, if not suppressed, invalidated or destroyed by parents or the educational process, will result in two characteristics: higher than normal intelligence, and extraordinary creative abilities. From these the true gift of dyslexia can emerge - the gift of Mastery.
In March I plan to do a 5 day intensive one on one course that will enable me to access my gifts in the areas that have been suppressed throughout my life. I can already see that anything is possible for me.
This weekend just gone I reviewed the Landmark Forum, which I first did 11 years ago. This time round I learned that certain incidents happened as a child, that I made mean bad things about me, and I have lived my life out of those stories.
Eg. When I was 3, I was a curious little boy, so I heated up a fork and was fascinated at the ease in which it burned through the sofa's. No drama in my world. But when my mother returned from work she flipped and beat the hell out of me, and took away her love. In that moment I thought I was gonna die, then decided to always be nice to avoid her wrath and to keep her love (and every other that person).
What I noticed was that is how I have lived my life up until now. I have no choice but be nice, charming and helpful to almost EVERYONE I meet because I am afraid that I will upset them and I will suffer their wrath and lose their love. Even though I am 6ft 7inches and 19 stones of muscle, I am terrified that they will find out that I am really really bad and be angry with me. I have completed with my Mum about this and am free to be myself around her and continue to grow my dreadlocks, even though she hates them.
Now I know this may sound silly to some but we all have our own version of this which is true to you. What you learn in the Landmark Forum is that "what happened" was that my mother got angry and beat me, but "what I made it mean" was that I was a bad boy unworthy of love, who has to be nice forever more, to make up for that sorry day. That interpretation of events was just a "story" I made up in the moment and not "the truth". Now I am no longer run by "the story" and am free to choose in situations with people.
Then you look at your authenticity's (the lies) and be authentic about the lies, then dwell in the impact of those lies. For me it was all the times I said yes to people that I really meant no. All the times I gave my support to projects that I had no interest in doing the work. All the the friends I have betrayed because I didn't have the balls to stand up for what I really believed. Many of you think you know me well but who you know is the side that I presented to you. A chameleon.
Then once you have dealt with your authenticity's you have a space to create a new possibility. So I have invented the of being MYSELF.
Some of the people I know I have been inauthentic with, I have contacted personally to create a new relationship, and others I have been unable to reach, but this email is going out to 200 people, as I wish to give you all an opportunity to create a new relationship with me.
Now before you stone me to death for lying to you just look and see where you have been inauthentic. I know several tough guys who talk about not being 2 faced that boast to their mates about girls that they have chatted up or porn sites they have w*anked to but put on a angel face to their partners. The world is made up of 2 kinds of people: Hypocrites and those who lie about being a hypocrite.
I have had to complete with Cath, my wife, about my love for porn and other things that I was too afraid to share before, when I believed my story I now feel totally free to be myself.
Cath and I will be moving out of our home in Ticehurst, in April and hopefully, moving to a flat in Tunbridge Wells. We will be starting IVF this spring also considering fostering too. I am really looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life with her, as she knows who I and who I want to become.
Last night I did a talk at the Goudhurst Women's Institute in Kent and massaged 20 little old ladies, some in their 80's. It was an amazing evening of healing, cultural diversity and wisdom. The room had a special energy that I not experienced before and because I had the freedom to be myself, I found it especially rewarding. Once we are settled into our new home, I will do a tour of all the Women's Institutes in Kent and Sussex.

Let me tell you a little of what has been going on with me lately -
Although healing has been in my family for generations and my mother would tell me stories about amazing healings, I never thought I would be following in the family tradition. Then one day as the business I was in was struggling, I sat up in bed talking to God asking him why I was living in this little village, with few friends, and hardly any income. At approximately 2.30am I was awoken by a voice saying "Magnus be a Masseur!". I was shocked and stunned, as I have never had such an experience before but as the saying goes, "beggars can't be choosers", I didn't ask for a second roll of the dice.
Cathy, my wife, had said when we first met, that I had a loving and reassuring touch, that many people would appreciate, so when I broke the news to her she wasn't surprised. When I rang my mother the following day she shouted "How long have I been telling you that we're a family of healers?", then continued to tell me yet another old tale of Great Granny Ena's miracle healings.
So since the beginning of April I have massaged nearly 1000 people and transformed the lives of many. It has also allowed me to meet some wonderful people and many of my massage clients have become personal friends. My love affair with Kent and Sussex and its beautiful people has blossomed, and now I am in no doubt why I am here.
This year, not only have I massaged hundreds of people, but I have developed my own style of massage, been in magazines, on TV and radio and now have a monthy column in the new well being magazine www.wellbeingmagazine.co.uk.
But 6 weeks ago I had some bad news - my landlord said that I cannot massage from my home anymore. The popularity of the treatments meant that more and more people were coming here and it has been a disturbance. As you can imagine this was a big blow and threw a spanner into the works. Although I could hire rooms to massage in, many of the treatment rooms are soulless environments, and I haven't yet found anywhere else. (Any suggestions welcome...?) So for now, I am only massaging at client's homes.
And, you know, my business thrives on referrals so please think of any friends or family that could benefit from better health, and put me in touch with them.
It is ridiculous that so many people are living with pain and ill health when I can make such a difference so quickly.
Due to the upheaval with the premises, I have postponed my Massage-athon till Spring 2007. I still want to do it but at present I can't take on such a big project.
Yesterday I massaged at a Black Tie Ball in London for 600 people, and in 3 weeks I will massage at The Pink Ball in Tunbridge Wells. I would love some more events of this kind so if you have any charity events or parties planned, do get in touch.
I also do massage parties for between 5 and 20, which are really fun gatherings.

In my work as a healer I've talked with so many people and seen so much of what makes us humans tick. Most health problems come about through worry, and that's usually about one of two things - either about our loved ones, or about money.
Many times, my conversations have empowered people in situations regarding their families, their relationships and friendships, but I was often left frustrated at not being able to make a difference to people's financial concerns.

OAKOVER AND OUT!

Oakover, the beautiful manor house that I have been living for the past 2 years will be a distant memory soon. Yesterday our landlords sent us a letter saying that we either have to stop massaging and making any noise after 11pm, or leave!
Of course we cannot promise to stop making noise after 11, as we often do not sleep til the early hours and if I cannot massage, I cannot pay my rent and support myself and Cathy.
What has brought this about is because my business is expanding and many different people are coming to Oakover. The landlords are very private people and
experience this as disrespectful. I totally understand as I plan to have TEN TIMES the current number come here.
Cathy and I have had to re-write our plans and are now looking at buying a place to live and work in. We viewed a place a few months ago in Heathfield, East Sussex, that needed some work but had bags of character and the space for a treatment room and rooms to rent.
The business is growing very well and the Magnus The Masseur brand is spreading across the world. Last week we had an enquiry from New York and today I massaged a woman from Switzerland. Due to this problem I have had to postpone the MASSAGE-ATHON til spring but we will still concentrate on getting one piece of media interest (newspaper edit,magazine article, radio or TV interview) per week. I am continuing to do great work and nearly 1000 people have experienced The Magnus Touch since I started since April 2005

It is my 38Th Birthday on October 12Th and I will be test driving a Chrysler 300c Hemi as this is my current dream car, then visiting a healer. 5 members of my family have birthdays in October, and on the 22ND my Mother turns 70. This day will be the focus of my celebrations.

BACK FROM THE ABYSS!!

Magnus here resurfacing after months of being AWOL. I had origianally planned to send an email to you once a month to coincide with my radio show but this got derailed after I recieved some bad news on the baby front.
Cath and I went to the local fertility clinic at The Kent & Sussex hospital and the tests revealed that we couldn't concieve children naturally. The reason for this was that I have a low sperm count! The meeting was over in under 2 mins and although this is not a unique problem anymore, nothing can set u up for the body blow!
My father had 10 children and possibly another 10 unknown children and had his last when he was 82, so to hear that I would not be following in his footsteps and not producing a gang of Agugu's was devastating! Interlectually I could understand but all I could think of is WHY ME? I'm one of Gods good people so this shouldn't happen to me!
So for the past 4 months I have been in my head wondering if I will ever hear the patter of tiny feet, wondering when our IVF program will start, feeling ashamed, immasculated, squiffed, inadequate, f*cked up, not good enough, on auto pilot, distant from Cath (Poor Cath!), in denial, comfort eating and putting on weight, growing my afro, feeling abnormal and therefore not fit for social interaction.
I haven't even shared this with close friends so many of you may have noticed me being distant. Cath has bee desperatly trying to get me to talk to friends, to get myself clear and to distiguish what I have made this mean but my EGO has been saying NO! My EGO needs the world to see me as BIG MAGNUS, THE ROCK, ATLAS, UNCLE MAGNUS, BAD & BEAUTIFUL and all the other names that sound powerful, so would't let me share my vulnerability (hmmm, I've been here before).
So although I have been safe in the knowledge that my secret was safe, my quality of life was diminishing. The simple things in life that I enjoyed were not enjoyable anymore. The interesting plans for the future didn't inspire me anymore. Hanging out with friends and sharing about life became something to be avoided. Even healing people through massage and my plan to do a 24hr Massage-a-thon and raising money for a childrens hospice has faded.
Cath has been brilliant throughout this period. Despite my attemps to bring down the energy to my level she has been a beacon of possibility and has faught constantly for me to deal with my issues and move on, powerfully. My mother has been helpful too.
So here I am, facing my demons, accepting that despite wanting a gang of Agugu's, I may not get them, naturally. I may not even get them using IVF, I may even have to adopt or foster. But whats for sure is that I have so much love to give and to share that any children that come into my life will be loved, appreciated, taught the beauty of the African culture, the beauty of the English culture, taught how to love themselves and others and lucky to have me as a Dad!
I have now begun to ask for help and if you want to call me or write to me please do. I have a friend who is a herbalist and she has given me a magic potion to sprinkle on some rice every evening for the next 2 weeks. She is confident that this will do the trick. I have another friend, who practices accupuncture and says that is a great way of raising my sperm count. But the thought of her sticking hot needles in my nuts kinda frightens me!
Global Grooving will no longer have a studio from 31st May but will continue to broadcast as it has for the past 4 years. Some fo the DJ's that cannot move with the times will be lost but to mark this change I will be creating a new radio show.
For the past 6 months I have been producing radio shows in Elphinestone Community School in Hastings using an mp3 recorder, some voice editing software and a vitual dj console.
My new show will combine these elements. It will be called "Out and About with Magnus". The show will be an excuse to visit all you friends that I have not seen for months and even years and catch up. I will feature some of my massage clients, Mans Dem, Izon, Landmark, BNI, Global Grooving, party, Hastings and the other people that make up my life.
It will contain music and interview and talk about the challenges that we all face in our lives. We will also hear your "5 Top Tunes" and why they have stuck out in your life, we will discuss the issues of the day and what plans we have for the future.

There have been other developments in my life that you might like to hear about. I am officially a country lover and will not be returning to London to live. Pele moved out of my flat and Cath and I are in the process of refurbishing it to put on the market. The flat looks wicked and were asking just ?175,000. We have surprised ourselves with how we have transfomed the flat so we're thing of doing this professionally. We have options on where to live and although we rent at Oakover, our quality of life is exceptional (40 acre garden, woods, outdoor pool, tennis court, herb garden, great neighbours and silence) so may buy a place to do up but still live here. I hear interest rates may rise so I may even hold onto the capital till things settle again.
The massge business is growing and I have joined a BNI chapter (a business breakfast club) to boost sales. It has increased my confidence and has given me a great foundation to build my business. I now have about 140 testermonials of clients who swear that I do amazing stuff. My long term goal is to write a book about the particular style of African Massage, teach, become the most well known masseur in the country, travel lots and become a Celebrity Masseur commanding stupid money allowing me the freedom to massage poor people for free.! The radio show will be one of the vehicles I will use to make this happen.

I'm not sure if I told you but Cath and I plan to live with our mothers in 2 years time. This really excites me cause my children will have the ultimate teachers to learn from as they grow up.
Cath and her mum are going on a cruise in 10 days time, for a week, and I will be left alone. This will be my first break from Cath since we got married. I have mixed feelings about how I will cope but I think it is neccesary as we spend so much time together. I won't be having a drug fuelled party so don't get any ideas! But I'm sure the absence will make our hearts grow fonder.
UB40 are playing at Bedgebury Pinetum, round the corner from us on June 10th, and I emailed them to let me spin some reggae tunes before they come on! If anyone knows them or their management, pls put a good word in for me! I also contacted the manager of the venue and asked if I could massage there but I still haven't heard anything. I would just love to be there doing my stuff in front of 5000 reggae fans, in a forest.
Finally, I would like to say sorry to any of you who'm I have not been in contact with over the past few months. If you have experienced being dissed, shelved or marginalized, I'm sorry. The combination of the above trauma, being a "healer" and continually transforming myself has made me act in a perculiar fashion at times. I have missed birthdays (Faith), anniversaries, not replied to invitations by email or text. But I feel that I have passed the worst and am ready to spread my wings once more and fly.
I'm feeling better already!

FEBRUARY SHARE!!
Peace, Greetings and One Love to One and All!
Thanx to so many of you for replying to my last share. Its so good to know I have friends and well wishers routing for me all over. I can feel the loving vibes through the internet.
So I hope that the new year challenges are presenting themselves and you can appreciate them as challenges and not just problems or circumstance getting in the way of your tranquil lives. Let me know what your up to? When you share it to friends and family it stands a much better chance of being realized.
Life for me has had its usual mix of drama, anticipation and reward. So much has occurred in just 4 weeks. Whether or not Cath is pregnant is no drama for me anymore. We went to see a fertility expert to check that all our hardware is functioning correctly and the doctor gave us some things to do to test ourselves.
We will not have any results for a couple of months. But since I got over all the shame attached to not impregnating Cath, I have considered Fostering and Adoption. We are a loving couple that will have no problem sharing our love, wisdom and home with a gang of kids.
As you are aware I am a teacher now, well one day a week at least. I work at Elphinstone Community School in Hastings with a Year 6,(aged 10 &11). Creating a radio show with this class is the most fun I have had in ages. The novelty of having a BIG, BLACK, BAD & BEAUTIFUL DJ is just too much for them.
The project has been setup by The Arts Council and The Creative Partnership to inject a little spice into the curriculum. I work with a sculpture, Tom Abbas-Saal, who together with his wife Amal have been a pair of rocks for me to establish myself in Hastings. They are a truly inspirational family that have taught me too much in the short time we have been friends

This month I have had to be with part of the uglier sides of my personality. I am BIG and I love being part of BIG projects or dramatic things that my EGO can feel GREAT, SPECIAL or BETTER THAN, probably to hide my insecurities for being inadequate. So I accepted an invitation to fly to Nigeria to help with the development of Bayelsa State in Nigeria. I was sincere in my acceptance but my people need ACTION, not fancy words. The Bayelsa Team are flying out this weekend with their proposals to present to the Governor. I am not willing to give up my interests to go to Nigeria for 10 days. There is an impact for raising the hopes of that team and pulling out. Good luck to all of you who are flying out.
January is traditionally a bad month for massage so I set my expectations very low . But already thing are picking up nicely and demand for my brand of healing is sweetly surprising and I have enrolled some wealthy allies in my search for more clients. Cath said I give white people the opportunity to express their love for black people as I am comforting to be around. This seems to be true and I am really enjoying making new friends every week. It is such a privilage to be a Healer, being welcomed into peoples homes, lives and them trusting this man they have just met with personal information. To think I way a bouncer 18 months ago.The results of my massages continue to surprise one and all so it seems this story has along way to run.
I an 2/3's way through my Introduction Leader Program at Landmark Education and although I have achieved the statistical measures, I have having difficulty being with the format. It seems that BEING a HEALER and BEING an INTRODUCTION LEADER are incompatible. Today I sent my coach an email saying I am leaving the program and had a conversation with Sangita Patel, the program Manager, saying the same thing. She did not accept my resignations and wants to see me tomorrow. I love Landmark and my life has been totally transformed as a result of me 'playing' with their technology but my spirit seems to have other intentions right now. I feel a discipline that compliments being a Healer is required, Yoga or Meditation.
My sister Faith arrives from Sydney in the morning for 10 days and I cannot wait to see her. Faith is a beautiful dynamic warrior woman, with such love and spirit and I am so proud of her. She will be staying with us next weekend with a couple more of the Agugu's.
I acknowledged something really important on Sunday about my estranged sister Destiny. The background conversation about her is that 'we don't understand why she wants no contact with us', making it her problem, or making her to be the weird one. She must be sick to turn her back on such a loving family. But from birth she has not been able to be herself without being judged 'different'. She is left handed and in the Nigerian culture this was a sign of evil (or not to be tolerated) so parents would tie children's left hand down and FORCE them to use their right hands. Today that is called abuse but my family were just following tradition. For the first time I looked at things from her point of view and TOTALLY UNDERSTAND why she may be keeping her distance.
Tomorrow when I see Faith and my Mum I will put this to them because once we acknowledge that it is our collective judgment against her is contributing to her not returning. We are a family of Healers and the moment THE FAMILY stop sending 'Make Wrong' and start sending LOVE she will know we are ready to have her back and the family will be complete once more.

NEW YEAR SHARE!

Magnus here wishing you all excess amounts of love for 2006. May this year surprise the hell out you and present you with challenges that develop your greatness, compassion and your ability to honour your spirit!

So since I last sent out a group email like this some amazing things have occurred in my life. I have met several of the people that recieve my emails and they have said although do not reply they are 'there with me', which means a lot to me.
Cath is still not pregnant, though last month it seemed she was, for a few days at least. But we are optimistic that we will have a child this year. I have also overcome a fear of hanging out with all my friends that do have children. You see a number of my friends got married within a year of me and have all had children and I have been beating myself up for 'firing blanks' and not being man enough to inpregnate my wife. I am over this now and can even laugh at myself for being so insecure.
On the massage front I have had some amazing results. My article came out in The Kent & Sussex Today and suddenly the telephone wouldn't stop! The article has given me the confidence and credibility to KNOW that I have something of value to offer. I have also put up my prices 50% to new clients and now feel I am an expert in the massage/healing world.
On January 2nd I was invited into the BBC Radio studio in Tunbridge Wells for an interview with Charlie Crocker. The 30 minute interview, between 8.15 to 8.45pm, was about my article, my projects and plans for 2006. The show was broadcast to BBC Kent, BBC Southern Counties, BBC Solent, BBC Berkshire and BBC Oxford. During the interview I massaged Jo the shows producer who had great things to say despite it only being for 3 minutes. With any luck I will be massaging at the BBC soon.
For New Year Cath and I had a Grand Feast for 25. Some of the guests arrived a day early and a couple stayed a couple of days later. Of the 25 were friends from 12 countries - The New Year United Nations! One such invitee was Lucia Blash, the author of my article. Lucia came with Giles, her boss at The Today, and they took photos which will be used for the official pictures for The Today Magazine New Year Social Pages. Another guest that deserve thanks is Mike Freeman. Mike offered and built me a website in 48 hours in time for my BBC interview www.magnusthemasseur.co.uk . I also have to mention Shin, a Shaolin Kung Fu expert, over from China for 6 months, who did a 30 minute display of his talents in our lounge! It was like having Bruce Lee in our presence. Thanx to all who came.
My December radio show was the best I have ever done. Something shifted in me and I was present and passionate. I shared from my heart what my views on political and educational issues.Two amazing things came out of this show. A week later I was offered a job to work in Elphinstone Community School in Hastings to prouce a radio show with a year 6 class about the environment. The Creative Partnership are using a series of pilot projects to empower kids to think outside of the box, to solve the issues of the future by adding some creativity into the curriculum. My first day in class is this Thursday.
The next thing was that I recieved a call from Ombrai Oguoko to fly to Nigeria to see Dr Goodluck Jonathan, the newly appointed Govenor of Bayelsa to present proposals for the develpoment of the state. I have been talking much about corrupt politicians and within a week of my show I get an invitation to meet with the politician responsible for the state my father created. It seems he is keen to build the state with the people, amazing. So the plan is to fly out at the end of Jan, early Feb.
Finally, I will be djing at La Chambre Magique, Hastings Pier on Saturday 4th March 2006. The night will have 2 rooms. The bigger room will play house/trance and my room will have me playing spiritually uplifting reggae music with my old sparring partner Gary Horne. Check the website for info but i think its ?10 on the door. I would love a crew from London to come down to witness this special event. So let me know if you're up for it!

A SHARE & REQUEST
FRIENDS
All of you know that I am married and now live in a tiny village named
Ticehurst the Sussex countryside. Some of you also know that we have
been trying for a child though pregnancy has alluded us thus far.
Others of you know that my vocation is I am an African Masseur and
Healer. Some also know I present The Ticehurst Connection on
www.globalgrooving.com . And very few of you know I have accumilated
debts of approx
?20,000 in the past year whilst developing my business and
providing for my family.
But since getting married and moving down here I have changed a great
deal. I adore the country life, going for walks in the woods, enjoying
the fresh air, fresh farm grown foods, appreciating the animals like
pheasants, bats, deer, kestrels and badgers. Even that fact that I am
the only black man in Ticehurst and everyone knowing my name when I go
to the shops.
I have giving up smoking weed, something I did and enjoyed,
almost every day for the past 9 years. I have given up alcohol,
something I enjoyed occasionally but found myself doing more of
to substitute the weed. I have also given up my obsession with sending
zillions of text messages, although I know some were really good but I
needed some time off to focus on myself.
So it was in one of my quieter moments that I received the "calling" to
become a masseur. Never before have I acted on a "calling" with such
belief and in 6 months of following that calling I have massaged over
500 people leaving 99% of them in a state of bliss, peace, invigoration
and feeling beautiful once more. Also I have been photographed 3 times
in papers in the south east and last week The Kent & Sussex Today
came round to feature me for their December issue. More "callings" have
told me to setup a Feel Good Workshop, combining the secret elements of
African well being, Massage, Music, Dance and Play, which I have
arranged for Sunday 4th December and once a month thereafter. Other
"callings" I have received have said to create a "MASSAGE-A-THON"
massaging 24 of the most stressful occupations over 24 hours.
But the calling that has excited and terrified me the most is the one
that created "THE 5 MINUTE MASSAGE".(mainly because with this I can see my financial dreams being realized).
Many of the 500 massages have been
5 to 15 minute tasters. But what has been so surprising is that the
have been as satisfying and effective as some 30 minute massages
offered by other masseurs . In just 5 minutes or less in some cases I
have cleared migraines, relieved pains from fractures, lower back
pains, necks & shoulders and left people feeling energized.
My philosophy behind this is that every employer appreciates the value
of massage and most would like to offer them to their employees but a
30min massage would disrupt the workplace, take too long to
implement and cost too much.
With my "5 MINUTE MASSAGE" I could either do them at their desks or in
an empty room, massage over 50 in a day and save them money.
