Over the years Magnus has developed a great sense of humour and has learned to laugh at himself, his disabilities and not take himself too seriously. He also has been a firm believer in “Miracles” and the power of the human spirit.
FREE FIRST CLASS TRIP TO AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND
In August 1995 Magnus was flown first class to Australia for FREE! At the time he was working as the Head Porter at Bolebec House, a luxury apartment building in Belgravia. Peter Janson, a friend of one of the residents, gave him the gift because he was so appreciative of the work that Magnus did for him, while he was a guest at Bolebec Hse.
Peter was also a bit of a joker, so arranged for the the Captaint to tell all the passengers to sit down so Magnus Agugu can leave the aeroplane first, as the airport Manager was waiting to collect him. This actually happened and the passengers were shocked to see that Magnus Agugu was the black guy with the big headphones. The airport manager whisked me through immigration and customs straight to a waiting chauffeur and within minutes I was out of the airport.
Whist in Melbourne I was driven around in a 1971 Rolls Royce Phantom and was even flown to Sydney for a week, to see my sister Faith and then flown to New Zealand for a further week.
FREE TRIP TO SOUTH AFRICA
In 1997 two South African residents of Bolebec House collaberated to fly me to South Africa. Whist there I stayed in Camps Bay and they flew me toSun City for 3 days. One of the highlights was a helicpter ride around the Cape which landed in Stellenbosch Vineyard and Restaurant. The chef thought that I was Shaquille O’Neil, so I signed his autograph!!
VICS’N’TRIX -” GUESTLIST”
In 2006 Magnus was featured in a pop video for the UK’s No.1 rap duo Vics’n’Trix. Trix, Magnus’ nephew, needed Magnus to play an ignorant and arrogant bouncer for the track “Guestlist”.
Their new track “Nip & Tuck” sees them sending up the cosmetic surgery industry and I think its their best video yet. Check it out!
When Magnus was a bouncer he was known a the “Gentle Giant”and was loved and respected by all who worked with him for his respectful and non violent approach to crowd control.

THE CLUB
During the Spring of 2003, whilst Magnus was working as a bouncer (door supervisor) at Nylon, a swanky bar in the City of London, The Club descended on his place of work and Magnus was asked to play the bouncer that ejected the contestant that was voted out every Friday.
Reality show hosted by Donna Air and Matt Brown, THE CLUB was broadcast five nights a week on ITV2 and weekly on ITV1. Dean Gaffney of EastEnders , former Page Three model Sam Fox and MTV presenter and singer Richard Blackwood were each be given a bar to manage within one of London’s hottest nightspots, Nylon. Each bar also featured three members of staff called Bar Mates. Chosen from the public, they help teach celebrity to run their bar. Each week, one Bar Mate got the chop. Dean, Sam and Richard must first nominate one of their own Bar Mates to go up for eviction. Viewers were then given the chance to vote off their least favourite of the three. As one person was sacked, a new person was then recruited to join the team. Producer: Matthew Littleford,/ Executive Producers: Ed Forsdick and Nick Bullen.

THE BAD & BEAUTIFUL SHOW & TICEHURST CONNECTION
IN 2002, Magnus helped setup GlobalGrooving Internet Radio with some school friends. The station was located in an industrial unit in Croydon, South London. The station stayed on air for over 4 years and was listened to in over 50 countries.
Although he had a stutter, Magnus did not hesitate to have his own radio show. His first show was called ” The Bad & Beautiful Show”, the name was inspired by Magnus’ philosophy on life that we are part bad and part beautiful. Because of his stutter the show was just mainly 2 hours of Spiritually Uplifting Reggae Music. His DJ name was Mr. Magnus
Then in autumn 2004, Magnus left London to live with his new wife Cathy, in the tiny village of Ticehurst, East Sussex. Ticehurst was a sleepy little village with some quaint and interesting characters, so Magnus wanted to create a new radio show that reflected this. The Ticehurst Connection was born. Magnus continued to play Spiritually Uplifting Reggae but also incorporated “The Unsignned Half Hour” to give a space for his eclectic side. This opportunity meant that local singers and poets could get international airplay for the first time.
